Overview:

Getaround enables people to make money from their cars while they’re not in use. Members of Getaround can locate, pay for, and unlock Getaround cars that are nearby through their phone or smart watch. Prices start at $5 an hour, although more typically they’re $7 and up. Currently, Getaround is the only car sharing service that provides the flexibility of an hourly rental as opposed to a daily rental.

Problem:

With an increase in car sharing companies, it is difficult to differentiate from the competition. Owners are concerned that their car will not be returned to them clean, on time, and in the condition they left it. Currently, there is no peer review system and inadequate customer service. The website and app are not user-friendly and leave customers either confused or concerned. Getaround lacks a unique brand voice and consistency throughout their company. 

Solution:

We want to integrate trust and technology into an easy-to-use car sharing experience. Our goal is to empower a community of car owners and renters to utilize transportation in an innovative way. We will reinvigorate the identity and personality of the brand to stand out from the competition, engage customers in an outdoor and social media campaign, build a website that makes customers feel more informed and secure about Getaround, design a mobile and watch app that are user-friendly and convenient, implement an automated and user-generated review system.

We’ve always loved our cars: the way the engine revs, the sleek design, and the romance of an open road. However, this relationship has become strained due to growing costs, dense urban cities, and our desire for diversity. Getaround’s car-sharing service allows customers to break free and choose a ride that fits their needs for the day or just the afternoon. With a simplified match-making system, we make day-to-day transportation easier for both owners and drivers so you can enjoy the ride again and again.
